The things that interest me, that make me laugh, that make me think, that inspire me.
Sometimes you have to forget what you feel, and remember what you deserve.
When I was 12 boys slid their hand up my thigh and slapped my butt. I smiled and took it because I didn’t know it was okay to say stop. I didn’t know that I could say no. So, when the principal calls telling me my daughter is suspended for punching a boy who wouldn’t stop touching her, I will cook her favorite meals. When she tells me how she cursed at the boy who wouldn’t move his hands off her knee even though she asked him to, I will smile and pull out her favorite movie to watch together. I will celebrate the fact that she accepts her body as her own and knows she has the right to say no. I never want my daughter to think her body belongs to men, because it is her own and my god should she be proud. I will teach her it’s more than okay to say stop, something I wish I had known when I was that age.
Hello! I love those Luster Mattes… the texture of them is so nice! It’s creamy and they don’t feel dry on your lips, but they have a really nice opaque, matte finish. The closest thing I can think of to compare them are the NYX Xtreme Lip Creams, because they’re comfortable and still have a really good color payoff and decent staying power.
With a $10 price difference, the NYX lippies are definitely going to be kinder to your wallet. However the NYX ones aren’t as matte as the Sephora Luster Mattes are, even though I wouldn’t say the Luster Mattes are a true, full matte lipstick. If you blot your lips after applying the NYX creams though, the effect will be almost identical. They even have similar colors!
I’ll also just throw this out there - some people consider the Sephora Luster Mattes dupes for the Lime Crime Velvetines… they’re not. Not in the least. They’re really pretty on the lips but they don’t have staying power that’s really incredible or anything!
Hope that helps!
